What you need to know if you’re on (or thinking about) GLP – 1’s

Strenght Karen

Here’s what I know and what all the data is currently showing when it comes to GLP – 1’s and weight loss.

YOU NEED TO BE EATING ENOUGH PROTEIN AND STRENGTH TRAINING 2-3 PER WEEK.

I’m going to ask you to read that again and I’m going to write it again.

You need to be eating enough protein and strength training 2-3 per week.

And work with someone who has told you this and understands it.

You should also be with a Doctors office or trainer who has a InBody scanner (we have one!) or something to not just track your weight loss but track how much actual fat are you losing vs muscle that you are losing, or hopefully not!

Because here is what happens if you don’t focus on the above very closely.

The drugs suppress you appetite so you just eat less and start losing weight.

But you haven’t create new habits, you’ve just lost your cravings.

You start to lose weight, but a large percentage of it is muscle.

You get down to the weight you want to be and get off the drug. Your habits are the same and it’s great you down in weight but you’ve lost tons of muscle.

So now most people revert back to their normal habits and start putting back on weight. And this time they gain 100% fat are back at the same weight but without the muscle they had before.

But it doesn’t have to happen this way. We’ve worked with dozens of clients on GLP-1’s and have help them gain muscle while losing fat.

Last week one client redid a scan, and was down 8 pounds of fat and UP over 1 pounds of muscle… That’s a huge win!
