The Freedom Your Health Gives You

Chris and Reid

Happy almost 4th!

This year marks the 250th birthday of our country.

And as the day approaches, I’ve been thinking about freedom on a more personal level.

The freedom to be able to do all the things in this life I want to do and not have to worry about my health being a limiting factor.

In a lot of ways, it’s our most basic freedom and one we actually don’t spend too much time thinking about.

If your spouse or best friend walked into the room right now and said, hey, you wanna go for a:

1 mile run
5 mile walk
play pickleball for a couple hours
go frisbee golfing
go on a bike ride

Could you do it?

Can you play sports with your kids, or grandkids?

Can you sit on the ground with kids or grandkids?

Heck, can you roll over your spouse if they ever need you to? We had an old member whose 200+ pound husband had a heart attack and was on the ground facedown. She had to roll him over before she could start CPR on him.

Fortunately, she was strong enough, AND kept him alive till the EMTs got there, and he is good now. That’s a true story.

And it’s not meant to be scary. It does raise the question though, are you able to live life to the fullest with your current fitness level?

Could you physically do all the things on your bucket list right now?

Because for many of us, time and life slowly take away our literal physical ability, our freedom to do many of the things we want in life.

Chris came into us a couple years ago feeling a lot like that.

His son loves to play frisbee golf, and it’s something they bond over, and he’d get out of breath walking around the course.

He decided to commit to not letting his personal freedom and health decline and has dedicated the last couple years to getting his body and health back, and the results are amazing. He lost 15 pounds of fat, gained 5 of muscle, and is feeling the best he has in decades.

And he’ll be the first to tell you how much more enjoyable his life is and how much more capable he is.

It all started with the realization that he needed help and needed coaching and needed a community that made being healthy and fit normal and fun.

This isn’t something you need to do alone. So if you’re ready to take the next step, you might just find Formidable is the place to be.
