“We never know how long we have. So stop saying you’ll start tomorrow.”
Chris once joked, “I’ve got the body of a philosopher—like I break easily.” It got a laugh. But behind the humor was something real: years of pushing through chronic injuries, trying gym after gym that didn’t quite fit, and wondering if his best health might always be out of reach.
Then he found Formidable.
“I’d been to five other CrossFit gyms. Most felt kind of… bro-y,” he says. “That’s not what I was looking for. From the start, Formidable felt different—friendly, calm, and approachable. There was a plan for me right away. I never felt like just another number.”
Chris brought a thoughtful mindset and a deep willingness to learn. He also brought some wear and tear: persistent joint pain, a long injury history, and doubts about what was still possible for his body.
That’s where the coaching came in—and where his consistency made all the difference. Chris trains three times a week, commits to personal training to stay on track, and works with our nutrition team to support recovery and energy. He’s fully in.
“The amount of time Reid and the team have spent working through those issues with me—it’s remarkable,” he says. “Not only have I been able to progress, but I’m actually healing things I thought would always be a problem.”
Today, he’s down body fat, up in strength, and training with more confidence than ever. But ask Chris what really matters, and he won’t list numbers. He’ll talk about impact.
“Training here helps me feel like I’m being a good role model for my family. I’m not just stronger—I’m present. I can do fun things with my kids. I have more energy to actually enjoy life with them.”
Chris, your commitment, humility, and perspective have made a lasting impact on our community. You lead with intention, lift with purpose, and remind all of us to show up while we can. We’re proud to cheer you on—today and every day.
